HELP!!!!

HELP! HELP! HELP!!
anyone who is reading this post... if you would please give me some advice.... ever since we moved to our new place... "A" has been waking up every night. if i'm lucky... he wakes up 2 times... bad night... 5 times... (the worst is, around 3 am, he wakes up and stays up for an hour before he falls back to sleep) ... since he is not in his crib anymore... he comes crying and trying to open my door. what should I do to train him back to sleep through the night? he is always so good at that... not anymore.... I might just drug him with a little bit of cough drops, what ya think? you think it will work or any others suggestion? (leave him crying is not a choice, because it will wake up the whole apartment complex) maybe i'm done with kids.

  1. I remember Evelyn did the same thing when we came back from Hong Kong. I think changes are so hard for kids especially when they are out of their crib. We ended up take her out a lot more during the day and didn't let her take naps eventually she got used to the schedule and know that it is not a big deal that she woke up in the middle of the night. You know adults do that sometime too, kids just have to learn to fall back to sleep on their own. It will take times tho. Try keep him very busy during the day and see what happen.

  2. I think the previous suggestion is great. Here are a few things that we do to help our son sleep through the night:

    1) We got this thing that plays music as he falls asleep and comes back on if he cries for a while.

    2) Kids are often comforted by the smell of their parents, even if they don't realize that's what it is. We slept with one of his stuffed animals for a few nights, and now he can't fall asleep without it.

    3) Make sure he has a bedtime routine. Every night at 7 our son gets a bath, then his night-time feeding, then bed. It doesn't really matter what you do, so long as it's the same almost every single day.

Hope that helps - let us know when it gets better, and it will get better! :)
